Has anyone seen any after market shifter knobs for the automatic in a C-3?

The only ones I've seen are the replacement black plastic and chrome. The only thing that scares me with the chrome is that it would get so hot you couldn't touch it! If you find any cool ones, let me know!

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I only have found them at Kecklers and Min American but I got the Mid American kit because the knob had been replaced and the shift stop did not work. I would bet that more than a few part places would have them also.

I put the chrome one on my car and I have not had a problem with it being too hot and I have a black interior. But the others are right, Ecklers, Mid America, Corvette Central carry them (I think)

I just looked at the sponsers. Mid America has the chrome knob, I could not find one in Volunteer Vette. Bair's has the black plastic (like original) knob #IN249.
Ecklers has a black plastic (like the original) a black chrome and a silver chrome. You can buy the knob, the spring and the button separately at Ecklers. I wanted to check the members site from Minnesota too, but could not remember his name or site.

Thass what these are for, Bluebarry....

My 4 speed has a black chrome knob...it get a little warm if the car sits in the sun too long(which it never does), but the gloves take care of that nicely.

I have a Hurst T handle in the BlacRay... I purchased a handle, drilled and tapped the inside to fit the shifter OD. Once this was done I drilled a hole thru the center and machined a small press to shift button to fit into the center.
I have a similar set up for Blizzard (the C5) It has a Hurst T handle in it with an A4 shifter kit in it that allows you to push the entire shifter down to locate the gear selection. It locks in place once you let up on it.
Both set ups are spring loaded.
