I drive the 81 to the beach alot during the summer.  The leather just turns me into a sweat machine.  I was thinking of getting sheepskins.  I know the 49.00 ebay jobs are bathroom mats in disguise and I dont want to drop 400.00-500.00 either.  Have any of you guys tried a cover that doesnt look cheap and isnt that expensive?  Thanks!

Hey Kevin,

I live in Las Vegas, and boy is it hot. But I wnat some real leather action. Rather than pay an upholstry shop $1,000 just for the material, I bought some seat covers off eBay. Corvette Pacifica is whos upplies the material to these people. THey get their stuff from Ecklers. In short I picked up my 100% Leather covers for $385 with the shipping. Vynl was $199.99 and Leather Like was $99.99 They have dif prices all the time, check em out.

I bought stretch seat covers from Corvette Central for my cars and they work fine. They keep the leather (for my '78) and vinyl (for my '69) clean and in good shape. When at a cruise-in or show I leave the seat covers behind. I believe they were about $60 per car. As I said, they do a fine job and look pretty good at the same time.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Since you're at the beach you might look into some neoprene covers (wetsuit material).  They're in most of the specialty catalogs...Summit, Whitney, etc.

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks. #2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
I got some seat covers from Corvette Central also for my '69. They protect the leather and keep your butt from fryin' in the summer.....it get's hot here in Texas!
I think I paid $40 - $50. They are black (I've got black interior) have the "CORVETTE" lettering in silver on them. I'm happy!

I purchased Wet Okole neoprene seat covers for my truck and they are great!  They are comfortable and clean up easily.  Mine are black on the outside and light gray on the inside.  I had a girl spill coffee on the light gray part and it soaked right up with a towel and never left a mark.  I'd figure them to cost between $200 and $250, and if you want you can get logos put on the head rest areas.  The fit was great too, they fit to my seats really tight and don't slide around.  Here's a link that shows a pic of them.

Dale, Is the Jones Farm your place?  I've been there a few times.  My friend Greg lives about 10 mins away..

Hey Kevin,
Yup, the farm is my place.  Pretty cool that you've been by it a few times... one of those "its a small world" stories.
