Any suggestions for windshield replacement services for 1979 L82?

Vette(s): 1979 L82 Manual
Crack from top L side to bottom L side after washing on a hot day for a car show!  I don't think I can do this myself, I wouldn't know where to start.  Will the windshield need to have specific dates, or codes on it to be "legit"?  Is that even something I should consider?  Worried about the price too, so if anyone has had it done, any details would be appreciated!

By the way, the car has been garaged entire life, seals and moldings all look great... does that make a difference?

Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary L82 4spd (M21) Red Leather. Pace Car is in the hands of a new caretaker.
Unless you plan on having the car judged at an NCRS (?) event or something similar where they check every little detail for originality I wouldn't spend the additional money. Local glass shop should be able to replace it.
BTW, I love my '78 L-82 4 speed. Just never get tried of jumping in and going for a ride.Thumbs Up
