my 75 has it on the front left side by the stringray emblem. uses the
door key to arm it. doesn't work as the alarm horn wasn't on the car
when i bought it. picked up a used one on ebay and hope to get it
hooked up soon.

The alarm on my 78 works perfect...ah sorta.
Today I was waiting at the Taco Bell drive-up window and the
thang just "went off"
. All the old folks inside ducked
. Gave the shifter a whack and it shut up !!

That thing and I are going to part company reeeel soon.

are you sure it was the alarm going off or the after effects of eating at taco bell

Long story short it won't happen again. I disabled the sucker and have since put an aftermarket system on it.

As disclosed above it is for the alarm. I tried it out on "The Toy" after purchasing it 6 years ago and all the noise it made amounted to sound the "key in the ignition" buzzer makes. Never monkeyed with it again.

Don't feel dumb. First trip I took in my 71, my wife had all her luggage piled up in the driveway but couldn't get the dang trunk open.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Mine didn't work when I got it so I ganked it out. Seriously, like Mick says don't feel dumb. It was this very forum that answered the same question for me five years ago. Terry

Mine did not work when I got the 73 but all it needed was a new horn and some door switches. Now it works if I remember to turn it on/off.
