I have a 73 Stingray and the alternator is going out. Any recommendations of what amp rating I should replace it with?

WELCOME to the forum . I can't remember for sure but I think it's either 60 or 80 for stock alternators. I'm on the road now and can't look it up but if no one else comes back to you, I'll check when I get home.

The alternator has a stamped amp rating on it. Replace with what it has, unless you have added a high powered stereo or other voltage hungry components. Iirc, it should have a 63 amp alt on it if it has A/C.
