I recently had to jump start my 82 CE and now both my power door locks won't work. If it was the actuator going out, I could understand one lock going out, but not both. Is there a fuse for the door locks on the fuse box? I looked in my 82 assembly manual, but was unable to find a fuse described in the power door wiring schematic. If there is no fuse, what other problems might there be, and how do I get the interior door panel off if I have to go in to look at the wiring?
Thanks,
Richard

Hi and welcome to C3VR
I believe there is a fuse for the door locks, but I'm at work and can't tell you exactly which one it is. If it is possible that one of your switches is bad, neither will work. If you want, when I get home from work I can find out where the fuse is.

OK, I checked the service manual and there is a fuse for the door locks. It is controlled by the 20 amp closk and courtesy fuse (ctsy-clk on fuse box). Check that fuse. Do you know where it is located in the fuse panel?

82dukman, thanks for responding to my forum question. When you get a chance, I would appreciate it if you would find out if and where the fuse is located for the power door locks.

82dukman, I know where the fuse you mentioned is on the fuse panel. The only problem is that I cannot seem to locate the fuse panel. I looked behind the kick panels down by the passengers and drivers feet, but did not find it there. Is it under the dash?

It is under the dash....on the driver's side. you'll need a flash light!!

In my last forum question, I was able to identify the fuse which was stopping my power door locks from working. I have not changed this fuse yet because my hands aren't small enough to get to the fuse panel. I am going to hire a stereo installer with tiny hands to change the fuses. Since the loss of my door locks, I have also noticed that the stereo is not working and the dome light has gone out. Could these be on the same fuse (ctsy-clk on fuse box) or should I look for multiple fuses to change? Thanks for your help.

the fuse for the power door locks also powers the interior lights. it is in the center of the fuse panel. tough to get to. kneel on floor, look way up. use flashlight. there is a fuse puller you can get to make the job easier; or, use needle nose pliers.
