Vette(s): 82 crossfire
I have an  82crossfire vette, I am going to eliminate the cross fire becuase of performance up grades.
Can I still use the factory dash harness to run the vehicle?
Can I still use the factory engine harness also?
Do you recomend I change both? If so will an earlier vette harness work or aftermarket?
Thanks

The harnesses will be fine. All you need is a 12v supply for the ignition to the distributor, which is already there. You'll also need to install a bypass, or some other way of turning on the fuel pump. It runs off of the ignition signal, and oil pressure. There are some other '82 folks here that will have more info on this.
You'll need to do something with the fuel pump, tho...it may put out too much pressure for a carb, so you may need a pressure regulator.
What types of mods are you planning, anyway?

What Joel said is exactley what I did on mine. I have an '85 fuel pump which puts out too much pressure so I used a pressure regulator and a gauge at the carb. I left all the wires in place, no sence digging it all out when you do not have to.
