My HVAC blower motor quit working after the car has been sitting for several years.  Jumped the motor (purple and black wires) and blower works.  Checked the relay and it appears to be good based on a diagram from another site. Pulled the 25a AC fuse in the fuse box and it is good.  I don't have 12v on either side of the fuse when the car is turned to run.  Looking at the wiring diagram in the shop manual, I should have 12v on one side at least.  Any thoughts on where to go from here?

You should have 12 on both sides of the fuse with the key on. Since you have no voltage at all, I would first suspect a burnt fuselink down by the starter. Is there anything else that does not work? Here is a link to the '82 Corvette Wiring Diagrams I have stored on my web page, if it will help narrow down your possibilities.

Thanks Adams,  Not aware of anything else that is not working but have not checked for sure.  I have power at some other areas of the fuse box.  I do have interior and exterior lights, gauges.  Car starts and runs.

Fluke makes a tone generator used in voice and data cabling to track cables. You could use this to track the wire. You can get them at Lowe’s or Home Depot

Looked a little further and the power windows do not work as well.  Looking at the manual these are feed together with power from somewhere.  No voltage on either side of the circuit breaker connection in the fuse box.  How is power supplied to these two circuits.  Where would the fusible link be that this area is controlled by.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Blower relay is fed 12v directly from the starter wiring, and it does run thru a fuse link. I did not take the time to trace what other circuits run off of this particular fuse link, but it does branch off in several directions. On the '82, I think the fuse links are in the harness behind the pass side valve cover, along the firewall. You would just have to look. There are normally a couple right off of the starter, also. The blower relay is right on top of the A/C plenum, I believe....you can check for 12v on the red wire there. No voltage there means the fuse link has burnt. You should be able to jumper 12v to the red wire at the relay, and the blower should work.

This is what a bad fuse link looks like, btw...

Finally figured some of it out.  Just knew it could not be a fusible link since I did not have other things not really working.  After looking at the ignition switch section of the shop manual, the window and blower are feed together from the same point through the switch, thus meaning there had to be something going on after the switch to the fuse box.  After standing on my head to get under the dash, I found a connector that was not attached. Once connected, I have power to the AC fuse and the windows will now work.  Blower is still not running but moving in the right direction at least.

Thanks for the help
