Vette(s): 1981 Frost Beige Coupe... all original.. My SECOND Love...

I'm getting ready to start working on my interior and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on replacing the stock rear speakers with something a little more responsive?  Can I use any 6x9 speaker in that spot?

Thanks!

Carl

Most 6x9's will work but, (and there's always one of those) I suggest that you take the factory ones with you to your local sound shop and compare the "depth" of the replacement speakers vs. the original. The newer speakers have a center mounted tweeter and/or plastic framing that will prohibit you from re-installing the speaker covers.

Good Luck and remember...

Thanks!  I found a post someplace else that talks about fabricating a custom enclosure, and I think I will go that route.

Post some pictures of the completed project. I'd be curious to see how it turns out and what it looks like.

Good Luck
