I have a new emblem to replace the old one that is shot. My question is what is the best way to remove the old emblem without causing paint damage and what type adhesive should I use for the new one? Thanks for the help.

dd,
If it's really stuck on there, thats going to be tough to do without damaging the paint.
The only thing that I can think of, would to be using a hair dryer and heat the emblem and then take a plastic putty knife and GENTLY work around the edges, slowly lifting the emblem away.
Or check with a local auto paint and body supply store and see if they have a solvent made to soften the adhesive up without harming the paint. Also see if they have thin black two faced adhesive tape that you could trim with an razor knife. Use the old emblem for a template. Good luck!
