Vette(s): 1981 Coupe, Beige, leather Camel Int, Mirror Tops, pwr drv seat, win, mirrors, 10 disc CD, 31K miles
Underneath my front bumper cover is a bracket that hangs below the 'air dam'(not sure of the exact nomencalature)
It is actually in front of the air dam, and appears to be pushed back slightly(probably from scraping high roadway areas)
I don't see this bracket in any corvette illustrations.
The bracket appears to be welded to the 'AMS' and has a flat horizontal piece and a 'loop' that hangs low.
Does anyone know about this bracket, and possibly have or have seen the same issue?(bent back?)(
Thanks
Hank

Vette(s): 1981, Black/Black, Engine bumped to about 400HP.Ext/int mostly stock.
Mine is bent upward, no doubt from curbs, etc. In fact, it appears to have pushed up the front bumper section on the car. Two clues are
1) The bottom edge of the air dam is closer to the pavement on the sides than in the middle.
2) The front tip or point of the hood is about 1/4 inch lower than the bumper section, but the rest of the hood look pretty well aligned to the body.
Can anyone verify for sure whether or not this is clearly an indication of the bumper section being pushed up in the middle? If so, any suggestions for how to repair?
