My 79 seats are a bit tired and was thinking of getting them recovered however the wife drove the car the other day and she found that the seat back was too reclined for her to be comfortable so I was thinking of replacing the C3 seats with some from a later model that had some adjustments. Anyone done this mod or is there something I can do to the 79 seats so that she can get the back more upright. Any help would be appreciated.

Lots of options. C4 seats fit nicely. C5 seats fit with some work on the tracks.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Sublime:
Flip the seats forward and look at the bottom of the back rest. I believe there are supposed to be a couple of adjustment bolts that you can fiddle with to get the seat back up to where your wife likes it.
My wife doesn't like to drive ours. Not because the seats are too far back, but because she can't see over the wheel flares in front. Oh well, more drive time for me, huh?!

Sounds like another job for the weekend and hopefully it will work. I work away a fair bit so she drives the Vette then. She is only short but the wheel arches don't seem to bother her that much, it's more she doesn't know where the nose finishes when parking. I'm actually pleased she likes driving it, bearing in mind that we live in the UK and the steering wheel is on the wrong side for our roads I think she deserves me trying to get her comfortable in it. Thanks for the info.

Took a look at the weekend and found that the seat base is broken and the previous owner tried to botch it up but very badly. Will repair the base and see how that goes. I have also ordered a set of leather covers from Willcox now I have seen how they come apart. Thanks for your help.
