Does anyone know how to remove the power window motor?  I have read the manual, removed everything I could get my hands on, but do not know how to get the motor out.  Help!!!!!

Thanks for your help.

Sometimes you can seperate the motor from the regulator and sneak it out of the door, but you usually need to raise the window.  In the down position you can't get the clearance.  Some cars require loosening the window regulator to gain enough play.

I removed the the motor in one door too. there are a couple of bolts to take out, unplug it, if I remember right then the hardest bolt was one in the back near where it connects to the regulator. It took a long time because it was hard to reach. Also the motor gears were rusted in place so I had to work it back and forth to get the gears disconnected. put a brace or wedge in the rising up bars with the window up. I was told it could accidently drop down and it would be like a slice o matic. I tied them up with a string up to the top of the door, just for safety. good luck

Thanks to all of you who have given me the pearls of wisdom on removing the power window motor.  Just as I was about to remove the motor I decided to replace the power window switch, and guess what, the power window now works the way it should have been doing all along.  Thanks again, GearHeadPeter
