A friend has a 77 with tilt wheel. It blows the turn signal fuse at times. I think the issue is going to be in the column, but I have not been able to duplicate the problem and I only get the car for 10 minutes at a time. The flashers always work with no issues never blows the fuse. The front side markers blink with the 4 way flasher but the rear sides markers do not. I thought I remember reading a post were it was stated they shouldn't work with the 4 ways. Anyone know if they should or not. I checked all bulbs and had to replace 2 bulbs but found nothing on sockets that looked like an issue. He may drive this for a few weeks without blowing any fuses and then it might blow 3 fuses in a week. He is one that has to move the tilt everytime in and out of the car. I cant get him to stop but it seems as though it is probably there because he will park it with them working, get out of the vette and the next time he goes to use it no turn signals. I dont have a schematic for a 77. Not sure what else might be on that circuit. any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks
Rodney

Rod, I know on my 79 the rear marker lights don't blink with the 4 ways OR the turn signals, they're just marker lights.  I would be willing to bet that one of the wires is nicked where the tilt bends so it's random when it shorts out. Just a thought.

Rear side marker lights are just that...marker lights. The front ones will blink in unison with the turn signals, until the parking/headlights are turned on. Then, they alternate...as in, when the front lamp is blinking on, the side lamp is off.

I think yer on the right track with a problem in the harness, inside the column. I can e-mail you the wiring diagram...
