Good evening everyone...just curious, has anyone put speakers in the kick panels of their C3? If so...size, any mods, and did you have to fabricate a bracket to fit a speaker in the kick panel opening?
Any additional speaker mods, changes, guidance is most welcome and appreciated.
How about radios? Want to keep the stock look but would love to upgrade...several radios out there I've checked out....but anyones first hand experience/opinions are welcome!
Thanks a bunch!

I've got 4X6's in both the kick panels and in the dash and a digital look alike of the original style push button radio. It has an aux input on the back that I run my Blackberry through and uses the original style knobs. The only visual clue is the digital display vs the analog original. Sound quality is pretty good for 4X6 speakers. I didn't want to loose any cargo room by putting speakers in the back.

Here's a link to my radio story. Maybe it won't interest or apply to you, but you never know, maybe it will. I'd be glad to provide more info or photos if it would help.

i have been planning on doing the radio upgrade as well for quite a while. just cant seem to get to it. i purchased a unit called secret audio. the only thing that you see is a little digital display stuck on the dash. the unit itself is mounted out of sight and this way you can leave the original radio in place. i also have a cd changer to go with it. there are also places that will take your radio and replace the guts with all the new technology.
there are other posts about this. also a post by one of the members who made a speaker enclosure for the back that does not take all the room away. if i come across it i will direct you to the post.

I just want to thank everyone for their responses. You've given me several great ideas and courses of action. I think I may just fabricate some brackets for some 4x6s in the kick panels...still not sure about a radio for it. I've seen several that have the stock looks I'm trying to maintain...just not sure about quality/appearance. I guess I won't know until I try one of them...saw one from retrosound, antique autosound, etc....would love to have the front audio port for an ipod...just not sure I like the looks of them, questions about sound quality also...decisions, decisions.
