73 Electrical Question

Vette(s): 1973 coupe silver Eng.383 stroker. Tremec 5spd 1977 L48 Stock
 I looked at the 73 schematic it shows a thermal limit switch. If the freon would lose it"s charge it would blow and shut down the compressor. Acting like a low pressure cut out we have today.

Yes, it appears that Brian is right that is the plus and wires. Mine, like Brian's has been disconnected for years as was the sensing/sending unit. It has nothing to do with the A/C at all! Thanks everyone for your help! We have figured that one out!   
 
Now....in the same general wire  "bunch"  there is a disconnected orange wire......
