Wiper door has never opened by vacuum since I have had the car. I can open the door manually by pushing in on the actuator button . Once open. Wipers work fine . I would like to trouble shoot the door operation . Where to begin?? Thanks. Big Al Headlights open and close. - operate just fine.

Took actuator off and BY pushing on rod there is suction and discharge from front and rear outlets . Arms and levers and other mechanisms work fairly freely. Will clean and lubricate. Actuator valve ???

As I say in every wiper door thread, there is a vacuum solenoid mounted on the back of the tach.  It gets a signal from the wiper switch and opens to get vacuum to the door actuator.  Don't ask how I found this little part of the system.

Now got to order some hardware to reattach the door and other parts. Thanks. Big Al

That IS simplified (and helpful). Ya got something as simple as that for the wiper door? Smile That one has really got me stumped.

You want to know how to remove the wiper door after you have already removed the wiper door?
