Any advice on getting the stock AM-FM Radio in my 69 repaired?

Also, does anyone know why there are 3 wires to each of the speakers instead of the normal 2?

If it's a stereo, those are not speaker wires.  They go to the output transistors in the heat sink.  GM calls this a convector assembly, but you need it for stereo operation.

AIM shows the installation under the dash, but a lot of folks left them up under there when upgrading the stereo to aftermarket.  Check to see if your original is still up under the dash.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty lucky in that the car is very original with few, if any mods. Looks like someone made a few wiriing mods to the speakers. There is only one of the factory connectors for the speakers (or to the transistor stereo device) and the other is haywired.
