I have a 72 with AC. I knew the alternator was not origional, but I just noticed it is 42 amp.
I know with AC it should be a 61 amp alternator, what implications are there with using a lower amperage alternator? My AC doesn't blow very cold, I don't think that has anything to do with the alternator - does it?
Thanks,
Matt

The alternator rating will not affect the A/C at all, unless the battery is going low.

My car has A/C and the 42 amp alt. I don't know if it is the original alt. I don't think it is.

As long as your battery gets fully charged, you are fine.
