1981 power window question

Had Driver side Power window not working yesterday and thought well maybe the switch has finally had enough. I had to replace the passenger side switch a few years back. The switch felt fine when operating it put no up or down action. I pulled the console apart in order to get at the switch and then thought maybe the motor is bad. I tried the switch again and listened and could here the motor clicking. Pulled the door apart and removed the cover over the motor just to find by wiggling the plug on the motor the window works. My question is this, have any of you had problems like this and could it possible be that the pigtail plug connections on that plug that plugs onto the motor or getting week and not making a good connection with the motor ?

Definitely a possibility. It may have some corrosion taking place in the connector that breaks contact temporarily. I would try to disconnect and clean the connector on both sides, and see if that corrects the issue....assuming you can get TO the connector to do that.

Hey Joel, I'm a little unsure about corrosion being the culprit. Back when I first got the car, and its been sometime ago. I pulled both door panels apart for reasons I don't remember. At that time I put die electric grease on all the electrical plugs inside the doors, that grease is still on the plug and it looked clean. All I did was wiggle the plug a little and window worked. I'm wondering if that plug at the connection point to the motor, because of vibration has somehow loosened the female part that it's not making good contact with the spades on that motor.
