As far as I know, LOF(Libbey-Owens-Ford) was the only supplier of front glass for Corvette...

Thank you, my car is very close to original and it developed a crack over the cold winter, even in the garage and I am going to have to replace it. If I remember correctly LOF is now out of business, so for "originality" any suggestions on what I should use to replace it or at this point does it matter?

Vette(s): 1981 Great White Shark. Red Interior, 350/190 hp. PS, PB (SS), A/C CC, T-Tops. Served three years in Active Duty Army, then Retired Air Force after 34 years! Badger State Vettes Car Club. 175,000 Original miles!! Now own a 1998 C-5!
How big is the "crack"?? I know that there are businesses here, in Milwaukee, that will come to you and fix the windshield if the crake is not too big !!

Thanks for the note, Dan, it is big, run's the whole length of windshield, apparent started from a very small chip hidden by the windshield wiper, than the cold/warm temperature change made the crack. I have used the services of a local repair company on small chips, works great; I just didn't see this one before the crack occured. PS love your car, mine looks actually the same, but it is an 80.

Did you find a solution yet? I can ask around this area. Who knows I may need one in the future!!
