All of which proves that GM didn't really make changes like this at any specific time, unless it was a safety issue.

Then again....I just re-read the original question...it asks aboot the Crossed Flags emblems...I been thinking "Stingray" emblems!
Seems I remember now that the Crossed Flag emblems(for the fenders) may not have been ready at the start of production, so some of the early cars didn't get them. I have seen GM press release photos of an early '77 car that had the Stingray emblems, too. If anyone here has an AIM for '77, it would have the date the emblems were approved for install...that is, the date the engineering drawings were done, but not necessarily the date the AIM page was revised, and the parts installed.

I'll post the pic as soon as I figure out what Photobucket is doing to me.

Embarrassed

GM publicity photo; probably taken during 76 production. No flags and alarm switch in the fender.

[QUOTE=6880Mike]Might as well check on the alrm switch location while you're at it.  Beginning with #27373, the switch was moved from the fender to the door lock cylinder.

I have all the emblems on my 77 (fenders, nose, gas tank) including the alarm key lock located in the drivers side fender.

Mine has the flags and alarm on the fender. Born in Sept. 76. The Black Book says the alarm was moved to the driver side door beginning with #1z37x7s427373, but no mention of the emblems.

I still have the original brushed aluminum horn button on mine. they were recalled due to a glare problem. Anyone else have one?
