Hello, I am installing new front and rear carpet (cut pile) and was wondering if anyone has a good link for instructions. Better yet, would be feedback from all of you guys and gals! I would like to know all the tricks of the trade when I start this very soon. Thanks for all of you help, I appreciate it!

I think many that have done this used the old carpet for a pattern, cut it a little big, and then did a final trim when placing it.
If you don't have the old carpet, make a paper template first.
Are you planning to put down insulation under the carpet?

No, I do not plan to put insulation in the car at this point. What are your feeling about the sound barrier or insulation? Thanks!

Well worth the money. Cut down on the heat considerably. I used one sold through the Vette dist. but someone here can give you the name of a product from Lowes ar Home Depot that is less.

I just got my carpet yesterday from Mid America. It looks great and it has the padding already on it just for the front, it does not have padding for the back. I was told to use the thin heat barrier in the front as not to interfear with the carpet fit and to use the same heat barrier in the rear and add some additional padding in the back to cut down on the noise. It will be a couple of weeks before I'm ready to Install though.

I don't have a heat problem (standard engine and exhaust with A/C) or a noise problem, but I would think you would want more than just the carpet. And this is the time to do it.
