Hello, I just wanted to tell the group that I was finally able to get my hood latch to release and then open the hood. The release mechanism or actuator arm was wedged to the side of the release arm mounted on the hood itself. The cable had stuck in the release position so when the hood was closed the release arm pinched and wedge to the side and would not allow anything to move. Neither cable is broken so I just lubricated them well and made sure everything worked smoothly and put it back together. Thanks for everyones help. Now I can get on with the rest of my repair and restoration work. Sheewww, glad that's over.

Yes it is great. I yelled out when it popped up, my wife came running out to the garage thinking that I had hurt myself or something. LOL When she saw that I was OK and that the hood was open she just said good now you can stop moping around like someone shot your dog and went back into the house. I guess I have been pretty down about the whole thing. That is over now!
I started getting things lined up to do some basic much needed maintinance. I followed on of the links to corvettefaq.com and am going through the list one, two, three called "I just got my corvette". I am having a blast!!!
