Hello, I posted a general help request a week ago on getting my 76 hood open. I got a few answers back and I appreciate them. I wonder though is there someone with a 1976 that could send me a couple of photos of the hood latches from the top view w/Hood open so I can see for myself just what I am try to release. I have only seen them once when I was looking at the car to buy it. I have been trying the suggestions and not successful yet. I even looked at a 1979 and practiced on it but my 76 just doesn't seem the same. Help!!! my email is vwhitehead@woh.rr.com if you want to send the photos directly in an attachment. Gotta go to work now.

Look at this link. It has a pretty decent hood underside like yours.

If you look at the left latch there is a tab mid-way down on the left side. When you pull the inside cable it pushes this tab forward which opens the left latch and pulls the cross-hood cable that opens the right latch.

Thanks for your time and the link. I will be checking that out in just a minute. I haven't given up hope yet but, I am getting frustrated. I will let you know how it goes.
