Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary L82 4-speed, close ratio 07M Paint code. Former owner painted it incorrectly. Not bad paint, but will paint it the RIGHT way down the road.

The originals are glassed in. I would try to replicate the original as much as possible. I believe the replacements can be pop rivited / epoxied into place. I would reglass the area if I could to try and bring it back to a somewhat original look then if you can.Tuxblacray2008-02-24 16:22:12

Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) will help.  The AIM shows the factory installation.  If memory serves, these are riveted.

Thanks guys,
Looks like 1/4 inch rivets.
Put a caliper to the holes in the mount, around .265
Off to Home Depot after work for some steele rivets, hope they have 'em!
1/4"  sound correct?
Aluminum is prob. to weak..

I think if you stop by your favorite body shop they will probally give you what you need at no charge and..... they will give you a pointer or two for no charge.

My guys would do that for me anytime..... If it keeps me from bringing my anal attitude azz car back to their shop.... just kidding.....
