I wave and I look for them. (vettes that is) I wave at folks in cool old cars too but, Not as much as if it is a beloved Vette. I have only had a couple of times that vette drivers haven't waved back and at first it ticked me off. I have learned not to let it bother me.
I definitely wave back when a non-vette driver or passenger waves or honks when I am in my 76. I want them to know I am not a stuck up person and that nice people drive nice cars too.

Vette(s): Frederick County Corvette Club (Maryland) Tan 64 365 Hp Conv 4 sp Red 72 4 sp Conv ..running a '68 327 Blue 76 Coupe L 48 4 sp White 79 Coupe L 82 auto Silver 98 Conv, 6 sp 35th Anniv '88 vette

Honesty I wave at almost any old car, street rod, or "kool car"...no matter if I am driving one of my Corvettes or my Truck...

Why NOT... I love cars and I see nothing wrong with telling a someone that they are is driving is "appreciated"

If he thinks I am Nuts....no skin off my knuckles...

We wave at classic rides of all types as well and are waved at in return. A "thumps up" is always cool for a cool car or truck. Say Joel (adams apple) we Harley owners always wave; at other Harleys that is. Sorry man, it's an American Iron thing...

Vette(s): 1979 Red L-48 Corvette with Doeskin interior, 3-speed automatic, 3.55 rear; 1986 L-98 Coupe, 4+3 Manual - Satin Black and Purple (SCCA TT/Hillclimb Car); 1993 White LT-1 Coupe, Black Interior, 6-speed

I like to wave at any well-deserving car that the owner has taken great effort and care to keep on the road. I wave at all corvettes, most Kewl Chevies, and anything else that catches my attention.

I get return waves from all C1s (rare), all C2s (some around here), all C3s (see several each day near work), and most C4s.

Only about 1/2 the C5s/6s wave.   I think it is becuase they don't know how to roll the windows down in their climate-controlled, Bose speakered, cruise controlled (that actually works), warp-drive, space capsules.  But I wave to them anyways. Some day the AC will quit working and they will find out it is fun to drive with top off, even during summer in NC.  Then you wave at everyone just to get air in the car!

Of course, they may be preoccupied/brain-dead with concerns about payments, insurance, cost of tires, ability to drive over small defects in pavement, etc.

Save the Wave!!!!

C3: 1979 Corvette Coupe, Auto, L-48, Red/Doeskin (my wife's fave);
C4s: 1986 C4 coupe (SCCA road race car), satin black, 4+3, Z51 package, L-98;  & 1993 C4 coupe, white, 6-speed, LT-1.

If I'm riding in my non-vette I stare at Vettes. To me they are like fine art. Sometimes they wave at me. Espically older Vettes. Sometimes C5 drivers look at me like, what the h... are you looking at. Terry

I agree and I also do the same for the "ricer / tuner" guys as well. Even if they they are not something I would probably own, I'm still very impressed and in awe with all the time, money and effort these guys expend on their cars.

I agree, I love them all, partial to corvettes - but love to see the unusual, old and classics of any kind.

Vette(s): 1972 coupe/350 cid/mild cam/4 spd/20 ft. paint (looks perfect from 20 ft.), but it sure runs nice.

I wave at all Vettes.....The older the Vette, the better the chance of a return wave. On the other hand, classic car guys have all waved....even the old Mustangs (dime-a-dozen).

Same here. What's up with those C5 drivers?? I wave & they don't. Vettes ARE fine ART!! I'll wave at any old classic car........LOVE 'em, but the Vette is my favorite. Had some guy following me while I was in my Vette. I turned into a Trailer Park (he turned too), but I "rat raced" to a hiding spot & saw him give up and leave.....that was scarry!!

I'll tell ya what hurts.....I was out in my '67 Bug at a red light and some guy in a F150 pulled up next to me and laughed at my car!!!
