I have never seen a tornado personally, but it is on the "bucket list" to see one from a safe distance just to get a real-time feel for the intensity and power of this natural phenomenon. I know that may sound CRAZY, but tornadoes are fascinating to me.

They have always fascinated me too!

@BillHanna Obviously, that turned out ok for you... but what is the ending of that story? Did you have to stop? Drive away from it? Did it head away from you? etc

I got across the long bridge, and kept going! The lightning lasted for maybe 20 minutes as I sped away. I assume the tornado eventually crossed the bridge that I had been on, but I could not see it at that point. It was daytime, but it got very dark.
Another time I was in Florida, again driving a truck, and a storm came up. The wind and rain was heaver that I had ever seen (and there are plenty of bad storms in Florida) the truck was shaking very bad; I'd look at the speedometer on minute I'd be going 50 MPH and another minute it would be 10 MPH -- I couldn't tell the difference with the storm. The next day on the news I heard that there had been a tornado in the same area that I was in. I very likely could have been in the middle of it!
