We found one here locally, that just opened back in Dec. '04. Some of our Corvette club got together Sat. nite & made it a 'cruize! Went to see 'American Graffiti'.

There were mostly streetrods, and customs, but we had 6 of our club drive out. They say that this drive-in is open 7 nites a week, and it is always full! There were cars stretched out down the service road in front of this place for at least a mile, waiting to get in! Three screens, a 'snack bar', and traffic blowin' down the interstate! How cool is that?! I'm old enough to remember going to the drive-in on the weekends, and havin' a blast! Never really watched the movies, but sure had fun!
They're a dying breed, but I sure did enjoy goin' back. It's been at least 30 yrs. for me. How 'bout ya'll?

I had one in the small town I grew up in Still there is your in Reo, Indiana.
There Is also one near my current home on the TN/KY state line between Franklin, KY and Portland TN. ITs packed all the time. Why they are a dying breed I will never know based on occupancy at this drive in. People come from all over, cars lined up down the road waiting to get in.

We had 2 where I grew up in Waterloo, Iowa. When my wife and I were teenagers we used to go all the time (most of the time I didn't see much of the movie though, lol). One is a grocery store, the other closed 3 years ago to make way for apartments. We went on the last night and waited for 2 hours to get in, when we got to the front we were the first car not to get in! Great memories though.
