The morning after a tornado devastated the Mid America Motorworks corporate campus, the company issued this statement Thursday morning:

Last night, a powerful tornado moved directly through Effingham, IL, causing catastrophic damage to our corporate campus. While the extent of the physical damage is significant, we are incredibly grateful to report that no employees were on site at the time of the storm, and everyone is safe.

As we begin the recovery process, our teams are assessing the damage and developing plans to restore operations as quickly and safely as possible. At this time, our network infrastructure and internal systems remain unavailable, which will impact our ability to process orders, access records, and respond through our normal channels.

At this time, we do still have our main phone line, 800.500.1500, and email address, customer.service@mamotorworks.com, that remain accessible for questions and urgent communications. We ask for your patience and understanding as response times will be longer than usual while we work through this unprecedented situation.

We have been deeply touched by the outpouring of support through calls, emails, text messages, and social media. Your concern, encouragement, and willingness to help mean more to us than words can express.

Our thoughts are also with our neighbors, local businesses, first responders, and all members of the Effingham community who have been affected by this devastating storm. Together, we will navigate the challenges ahead and support one another through the recovery.

Mid America Motorworks has always been built on resilience, dedication, and the strength of the relationships we share with our customers, suppliers, and community. While the road ahead will require patience and determination, we remain hopeful and confident that we will emerge stronger from this experience.

We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your support, understanding, and partnership.

Sincerely,

The Mid America Motorworks Team

As a reminder, Michael Yager stated earlier today that "Volkswagen Funfest this weekend and other events in the future, obviously are cancelled."

This story is still developing. Stay tuned for details. You can follow us on our facebook page for more.
