Can anyone help with what could be wrong with the headlights?

Had to unhook left headlight assembly-motor was buzzing (actually screaming LOL) when we turn off lights. Sound stops as long as lights are on. But continues after turned off- even with car off.

thanks

Sorry about that Terri, didn,t mean to bust on you,we don,t usually work on C4s,I do have a buddy who has an 86,he had the same problem ,the large gear inside the headlight was stripped and the unit jumped out of time. in laymens terms when you turn on the headlights ,the electric motor comes on and rotates the headlight around to the open position ,there is a gear inside when it gets to the open position stops the motor so it wont burn up,apparently its not stopping the motor.the motors are expensive to replace ,the gears aren,t so bad ,I would unplug the motor untill you have a chance to repair or replace it,I don't know if the electric lights can be rotated manually or not, hope this helps some |thumb| |hammer| Ron 78
