i know this has to do with my 75 but it can happen with the 90 too. need a proportioning valve for my 75.called ecklers and they were on back order so i put my order in for when they arrived. got directed to a couple other sites and called. one was as ecklers with them on back order and the other said they had it (this was last mon). i asked to make sure and he confirmed it and said i would have it by today so i called ecklers and cancelled that order.
come home and it didn't arrive so i call them and asked them about it. the guy looks it up and tells me it's on backorder. i told him the other guy said they had them on the shelf and i would have it by now. he then says that they might have had them but by the time they came to my order they ran out. i got mad and told them that i cancelled an order because he said they had them. he said he was sorry and that as soon as they came in i would get it. i told him to keep the valve as i don't want to do business with a company that i can't trust.
i went and called ecklers and now have to start over again to get one. can't understand why a business would do that. they should realize that that kind of selling tactics would only lose customers than gain them. by the way the company was inline tube.

Did you ever try and cross reference the stamped part number to another model Chevy?

In a lot of places order taking and order filling are not linked together. And inventory in most cases isn't linked into either side of the order process so an accurate on-hand count is impossible to know. How companies manage like that is beyond me. Sounds like you got caught in no-man's land on that one.

cant understand it either jim. i would think that if you can check the computer to see if you have them in stock then if you sell one it should be taken out of inventory. it maybe still on the shelf but the salesperson wouldn't know that. at least that's how it worked everywhere else that i know of. i know in some cases where the computer says there should be one in stock and there isn't but the guy i talked to made it sound like they had a stack of them. i guess it really aggravated me more because i have been waiting for this for a couple weeks and thought i was going to get it.

It's the ol' wreckin yard shtick..."Oh yeah, we got that....come on down..." Of course, they NEVER have it, but they got you there, so you might as well buy something else, right?
Have you tried Vette Brakes, or Paragon, Dave?
