The tach on my 1990 is out in left field. Everything in the dash cluster works fine except the rpm reading of the tach,I have put a tach on the distributer and it is at 850 rpm but the the tach in the dash is at 2500 rpm. I think it needs to be calibrated. Does anyone know where I could send the cluster to have this problem fixed. Thanks for your help. Greg.

Talk to the folks at Bair's. They deal with a independent contractor that does tach repair for our C3s. He may be able to help you.

You may need to replace the tach filter, located in line, close the the distributor. It will be on the white wire coming off of the distributor. They go bad quite often, and create erratic tach readings.

In that case, your will probably need to send the cluster out for repairs...
I have the info for a guy that does it really cheap(compared to other places), I sent the dash for my '85 to him, and it never worked as well before he fixed it! If you would like the info, shoot me a P/M.

Is your vette a 1990 or a c3, there is a small circuit board behind the tach
that goes bad, you may want to change it

These cars do not have the flexible printed circuit board like the Shark cars do. The dash cluster is pretty much all one piece of electronic mayhem!!

I've tried everything people have suggested so far with no luck. Does anyone have any other resources or ideas? Thanks. Greg.
