Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
I got a wave from a C5 today... it still gives me chills when another Vette waves to me!
I also got a "I love your car" (with a big grin) from young female outside a Wendy's.
These things helps it feel worth it... pouring all the money into the pit!

I know what you mean, Adam. I've got a little high school fan club that watches me drive home every day. Kinda good for the ego, too!

Vette(s): White 1975 L48 Stingray 129,000 Miles, daily driver.
I brought my 75 to school for a week, got a lot of looks, got a lot of compliments, and got to cruise with a lot of attractive young females
Only had one major repair for 1100 miles in 170 hours, was fun!
This money pit is worth every cent!

This is SO true. It's the best when you're frustrated that the headlamps won't go up/down on their own, the roof panels are squeaking/leaking, the carb is acting up, no air coming from the vents, potential electrical problems, etc. etc. etc.
Then you get a comment from someone about what a beautiful car you have - or you see people staring at it while it's parked - and you get to forget about all the "little" problems and you smile again!

My wife has a red, C5 and it torks her when she is in hers and I'm in my 75, people do a double take on my ride, but not hers. I'm constantly being told, "Man, I LOVE your ride". Life is good.....

I fully agree! My girlfriend drove my '78 L82 recently back from the upholstery shop (I was unable to drive due to being on crutches). It gave her such a thrill to get so much attention from other drivers and she told me she felt like "it was riding in a giant, vibrating p___s". In otherwords...she loved it! What a woman!

Well, I totally agree with all of you on the ego trip
I love the look of people going by, eyeing the car, then when i turn to wave... they turn real fast to make as though they wern't looking...lol
The teen crowd absolutely loves it, especially the crome. Of course, i'm only 20 so those teens are mostly my friends... lol. Last week i went out to my car to find a girl, probably 18, grinding her rear on my front left tire..... lol!! She then said nice car.... completely skipped the conversation and asked me if i was married or single... lol! To be honest though, for someone my age the greatest feeling is when an older vette owner or admirer gives me the thumbs up, a polite wave, or fist pump

I also agree with all of you!!! But in Holland a Corvette is a rare car (about 1300) and because of the weather people keep their Vette most of the times in the garage. So when driving one of my Vettes, many thumbs go up and I see a lot of people staring at it.
And indeed after all the years that I drive Corvettes, they still give me chills!!

OK gang I just had to chime in on this one. I drove my "76" just two days ago, figured it might be the last time for a while with winter setting in. On my way up to an appointment on I-75 a south bound C-5 flashed lights and waved as I went by and I waved back. It was cool cause I never had anyone in a C-5 wave at me. I always try to wave when I see another Vette. Then I went on to work and after a long day drove home after dark. I remembered I didn't call my wife so I stoped at a pay phone at a gas station and when I pulled in and got out I looked over my shoulder as all but one person emptied out of the building to drool and smile as they looked her (the "76") over. I loved it! Best of all was the older trucker who stepped out of a semi and smiled and waved then pointed to a photo of a C-3 Silver "74" in his side window. I waved and smiled back which promptly got a thumbs up. I drove home about 15 min. later after talking with those folks and feeling great. All the work and money is Definitely worth it!!!

I have a 69 charger that I get alot of attention when i'm driving it.I'v had the charger for 14 years, my son thought it was the neatest thing to get all that attention. Three years ago I got my first vette, 1970, 454,side pipes. If I thought i got attention with the charger, It was nothing compared to when I'm in the vette. Charger was mostly guys, lot of teens. In the Vette It's everybody, guys, gals, young and old. Now the vette is the only thing my son wants to ride.
