Vette(s): 1979 L-82 corvette coupe/targa top 350 small block bored & stroked Red in color/original wheels all original. I am restoring the interior of this car including steering column.
I am trying to find a diagram of a 1979 corvette steering column.  The entire steering wheel and short shaft will pull straight out of the column if you pull up on it.  In the shaft it has a half-moon locking disc that also falls out.  What locks this all in to keep it all together? I can't find a bolt or locking pin on any diagram I've seen.  Please help me!
What year steering columns would be compatable to this "79" if I need to repace the entire thing?

Any help appreciated. Big%20smile

This diagram has all of the parts needed, except the little "star" wheel that attaches the lock rod to the wheel.
Maybe someone here has their column opened up, and can get a pic of it...
