If you want a 4-place car that is distinctive and is likely to increase in value in the future, do like I did. Besides my Corvettes, I own an Avanti. Mine's a 2002 model equipped with a Vette LS1 engine. The back seat is admittedly small, but you can fit two people back there. I have a convertible and is a great cruiser that can scream when I want it to (lots of bolt-on performance enhancers available for it).
Starting in '05, Avanti's have changed to Ford 4.6 power. Kind of upsetting to me as Avanti's have had Chevy small blocks since the mid-60's after Studebaker went bust.

The photo with posts are of my Corvettes and my Avanti.
GM doesn't make the Avanti. It's a small custom car company located in Georgia. They build maybe 50 to 100 cars a year. Until 2005 they used GM power, now they use Ford power.
Their website is <www.avantimotors.com>. They do have a European importer I believe.

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks.
#2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
Don't go new.
How about a 1956 - 57 Chevy Bel Air?? Huge trunk, gobbs of room inside, collector car, increases in value and just an all round good family car. You could beef up the suspension a bit too for grins!
BMW?

I agree with Mick! No need to go new. Find you a nice vintage four seater.

Mark,
You better be careful towing your vette with that short wheel base. It might get a little squirrelly.

It looks like your Dakota met a compactor
As for a four seater, any pre 1975 GM musle car would be a great investment.
