NCRS Judging

Hello, I'm a one year (rookie) owner of a 1972 Corvette, targa blue with a white convertible top, and about 47,000 miles on it. Thanks to my brother in-law, who owns a 1960, and a 1967, we have attend many shows and cruises last year, and loving it. When we purchased this car, we were told that everything is original and unrestored. Our mechanic says it's pretty close. Where should I look to get information on what to do and prepare for judging. I am NCRS National and Michigan, member #40371. What is Survivor, and is this something that NCRS Juding Meets conduct. Thank you for your help. Go to the NCRS website and order three manuals. First you need the Corvette Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide. You may think your car is original, but surprise surprise! You'll find things like water pumps, hoses, fuel pumps etc. that may be after market and don't have the correct numbers, etc. Read this manual from head to toe, as you don't want to feel like a fool when your car is judged. Second you need the Corvette Judging Reference Manual. This will tell you about the process. Third, get the 1968-1972 Corvette Operations Manual & Performance Verification Test Guide. Only after you read these three manuals would I even attempt to have the car judged. The survivor class is for unrestored cars. I'm trying to find a better description in the manuals, but haven't found it yet. Will post again if I find it. The NCRS bulletins list the places and dates of judging events.

I thought "Survivor" was a Bloomington Gold award, not a NCRS award. I could be wrong.

The NCRS award is called the bowtie award. Survivor is what is at Bloomington only. Go to NCRS.org and look at the awards section. I have attended NCRS meets and they are very educating and interesting. I attended the National Convention last year and enjoyed it immensely.
