Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks. #2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
Karen, a C5 will get 30 or more MPG, depending on how you drive it....can't keep your foot in it all the time. LOL  If you are lookin', try your local Vette Club (if your in one) and see if a member has a C5 for sale at a resonable price.  When I found mine, I just Googled a search of car dealers within so many miles from my house......and I found a very good deal.  Sometimes your vette club will have a special deal with a Chevy Dealer and they will give you a good discount on a used Vette or a new Vette.  Hope this helps.  Go for the C5, they are more "dependable" AND get better gas milage than the C4!Thumbs%20Up  The only weird thing is the butt crack hood....Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

He's funny isn't he????

I don't think I can swing a C5 given all the boat costs right now.  What is a "good deal" for a C5? I'm thinking I'll have to go for a cheaper car.  A C4 is probably more likely (if I get a Vette).  Mikey doesn't want me to get any car so anything will be an up hill battle.

We were at a show & shine today at Suburban Auto Group.  They had a nice looking 2003 convertible, automatic, about 16,000 miles.  They're asking $35,995.  That's too much for me right now.  I gave him my # in case he comes across any screaming deals (yah, right).

So let's hear from you C4 owners...what do you like/don't like about them?

A 1999 to 2001 .......40 some thousand miles for about 18 to 21 thousand dollars. I've been looking (sort of) and can't remember where but I found an original owner 01 with 61M miles for 19,500 with all service records. My wife said maybe in the fall.Censored

Just have patience, patience, and more patience and stick to your price. They are out there and never fall in love at first sight if the price is not right !!

How about a 2000 with 96,000 miles on the clock,  original owner/90 %highway miles with impecable service records for $14,000

These are deals i've found recently but wife says I gotta finish my 78 first...okay, i'll buy that because I know when I get ready, there will be other deals pop up.

You have to be relentless in your search and try to stay within a couple hundred miles of your home. That way you will be able to see it, smell it, drive it. You'll be able to see the persons house and how neat they live and be able to inspect their intelligence as well as their car.

Remember, the C5's are very well built cars. They are tough machines and will hold up to moderate abuse with little or no effect if they're taken care of.  If you shop carefully you can pick-up a nice high mileage Vette for a very reasonable price.

Vette(s): 2004 Commemorative Edition Coupe, Auto w/HUD. 13K miles in 2015. Sold 1982 Red Coupe
I agree with most of the above.
The C5 is a much better value.
That C4 looks nice, but I have seen them like that for less than $10K.
A 97 - 01 would make a great daily driver.
Keep looking. There is no pressure.

Micki , I need to take driving lessons from you, although my c5 gets real good gas mileage , it`s not 30mpg.
I agree on the c5 vs. c4 it`s a far superior car. the price range qouted above seems acurate too, however, add 5K for a vert. good luck
