Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
I attended the Mecum Auction in Indianapolis again this year.  I can't stress enough that if you haven't been to one of these in the past, you SHOULD!  Maybe one year, I'll actually sign up to be able to bid, but for now, I'll have to be content to just look.

Here is a group of pictures so you can look too!

I saw a car just like member Mitch's car, but this one only had 3,000 miles on it!  However, from the looks of it, it did not sell, so I can't say anything about the value.  There were certainly lots of other Vettes.  A late model C3 with only FOUR miles on it sold for $42K!

You may notice many shots show the listing sheet that shows the Lot# of the car.  If you sign up on the Mecum web site, you can see what the final bid was (assuming the car sold).  Some of the cars, I took a picture of the "the bid goes on" for cars that had already been through the auction process, but did not meet the reserve price.

I liked the "Firebird" conversion on a current new model Camaro, but unfortunately, I could not get a good angle - the pictures don't do it justice

ENJOY

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Wow awsome pictures Marshall.  I'd love to have that 1971 Dodge Challenger Pace Car.  That was the only year that the Pace Car was wrecked.  When I talked to Al Unser Sr. (1971 Indy 500 Winner) he told me that they didn't have a Challenger Pace Car to give him so they gave him  Dodge Charger which he sold because it had no sentimental value to him.

Mark, it looks like that Pacer didn't sell with a high bid of $43K.
