Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
Here is a bit of insite.  When the came up with them the concept was similar to a Club Racer.  A less expensive car that someone could run on the track on weekends.  That is why they have the performance goodies, and less options for less weight.  Not a lot of them produced.  I'm just guessing, but I think that some day these will be sought after cars.

Vette(s): 1972 Corvette Coupe. 350/200 Automatic with PS/PB/PW and A/C. Beautiful Bryar Blue. Unmolested original. Shooting for NCRS Top Flight someday.
Well, this is one of those "wish list" future items.  Like I said the wife would probably never go for it for a replacement for her carCry.  It would probably only happen someday when the stars are are all aligned just right and at the same time that my everyday driver needs to be replaced.Ermm  Too bad I am not independently wealthy.  Just lucky right now to have the '72.  I am counting my blessings for thatThumbs%20Up.

Thanks Larry for the searching tip for Corvette Forum!

QWell I looked for almost a solid year for a FRC....actually my kind of car...all muscle with few options and the standard Z51 Suspension and 6 speed were actually "my" only absolute needs...   BUT I sure do not think ANY C5 is ever going to become a collector car and the FRC is now viewed as a lower powered Z06 ...  nothing wrong with that IMHO..

Personally I believe that the FRC suffer greatly becasue it was originally conceived as an enty level Corevtte short on options that could be added (available only with a black interior) and only a few selected colors, the Billy Bob "CHEAP" handle stuck... The original buyers were guys like me who had no need for fancy
option packages and just wanted a car that went...well went fast, and handled ...The susposed to be weight savings just never materialized... GM woke up about selling about 6000 of them and stuck a more powerful engine under the hood and the Z06 was born and we all lnow how that turned out...

Yep I LOVE the FRC...but since I could not find one,
and since I do not like the rear glass in the coupe I had to settle for a convertible...but I got my Z51 suspension and I got my 6 speed tranny...I just gained a few pounds and have a cloth top... PLUS a lot of extra options that I really do not use... Can't remember the last time I ever turned the Radio on...A/C is only used when the wife is with me... about the only thing I use is the CD player...

Just the opinion of a guy who loves Corevttes... and owns a few...

You could get the FRC in 99 and 2000.  Beginning 2001, they all became Z06s.
