Vette(s): 73 coupe bought new in 1973 with only luggage rack, AM/FM radio, HD battery & Maplight as options. L48, 4 speed, Paint Med Met Blue 922 interior Dark saddle 418 special order. Repurchased 4/1/06 after 24 years.
I drove an 03 6 speed last weekend. It belongs to a neighbor and I helped him do his brakes. I am definately hooked! I love my 73, but there is no comparison in every way the c5 is a superior car. I can't imagine what a c6 must be like. Some day I will have two vettes!!!!

Yeah, I'm hooked! But I've resolved to work on paying off the house and start saving for the new one (with the BIG garage
). Then I'll have the space for more vettes. It's just so tough, especially when I had to drive home in the 99 Accord...

I hear ya John, the C5 is SAAWWEEET!
Scary at first, cuz I'm used to the old style. Wasn't used to the steering wheel coming at you and the seat moving forward towards the dash.......I thought I was going to be crushed.......hell, didn't even push any buttons. Now I'm used to it.........I'm hooked..........kinda been lookin' at the C6......For-

Shame on me!

Don't be shy "Drive it like you stole it!" It's a vette and was built fer yer drivin pleasure. I would hate to get rid of mine! On the road it rules. Around town it takes a backseat (if I had one) to Tux...Tuxblacray 2007-04-18 03:06:41

I can't believe what I'm hearing here!!!!!! Heresy!! Get the tar and feathers!
The dripping envy above (and the fact that I simply can't afford to feed 2 vettes) is precisely why I won't test-drive a C5 or C6. Now . . . if I can just convince Mama that she'd look fine in a newer, more comfortable ride, then maybe I could hoodwink her into trying / buying one (like a Z06 maybe?)?? Whaddayathink? Good strategy?
