I once used my Dad's 68 Rebel wagon when I was the only one home and, well, grounded. I was 17.>
I got to where I was going, and made it part way back. The alternator quit and the battery went dead, then the car quit. Not wanting to get busted, I pushed that beast 8 BLOCKS to get it home and back in front of the house were it was. Yep, by myself. Actually some friends spotted me and helped push it the last 200 feet. Not much help.
The next morning Dad knew the battery was dead, and we found the alternator went bad. We fixed the car. He never knew. Granted that was the biggest workout I had in a long time. A 68 Rebel wagon is NOT light. I was wore out!

Years ago when I was about 14 yrs old, my mom had a '73 Datsun 240Z 5 spd. that never liked to start in the winter. So...after school (while everone was still at work) I would get the old can of starting fluid out and get it fired up and go for a joy ride. Man that car was a blast to "fishtail" around on the icy roads. The joy rides did come to a end though.... once she noticed that the odometer had a lot more miles on it than the day before. And she didn't drive it. Big OOPS!

GM dropped the ball on this ad (by banning it), it really touches a part of
my past youth psyche. I'm gonna hit the road this weekend with 'Exile on
Main Street' at full volume and get in touch with the kid in me again...
