Vette(s): 1979 coupe and now 2007 c-6
picked up a 85 vette    bough shape but ok,after trying to get car running,turns over but no start the alarm light is lit on dash,i have no remort,seems like fuel is off,how do I shut this alarm off,doors are unlocked,any help for me.   dwa

The factory alarm system will NOT kill the ignition or fuel...it WILL keep the starter from engaging. If you can crank it over, it's not the alarm system causing the no-start condition.
The alarm is disabled/turned off by using the key to unlock the door. The Security light will be on until you turn the key on.

Chances are the fuel pump has taken a doo-doo...pretty common problem. Need to test for fuel pressure and go from there. Thumbs Up

thank you that's what I needed to know,fuel pump has press ,something wrong eleswear.  dwa. also note,with key on light stays on,alarm.
