Description
Up for sale is a beautiful, numbers-matching 1979 Chevrolet Corvette featuring the highly desirable, higher-output L82 350 cubic-inch V8 engine.
This C3 classic stands out in a striking blue exterior paired with a rare, elegant oyster interior—a stunning, timeless color combination that commands attention wherever it goes.
The '79 model year set an all-time production record for Corvette, but finding a numbers-matching L82 clad in this specific color palette makes this particular car a standout piece for any collector or enthusiast looking for a turnkey cruiser.
Key Features & Highlights:
Engine: Numbers-matching L82 350ci V8 (Factory rated at 225 hp, featuring a higher-lift cam, larger valves, and a forged steel crankshaft compared to the standard L48).
Exterior: Gorgeous classic Blue finish with iconic C3 stingray lines, dual sport mirrors, and slotted aluminum wheels.
Interior: Striking Oyster White interior, offering a beautiful, bright contrast to the deep blue body.
T-Tops: Removable tops for that classic open-air driving experience.
Provenance: Numbers-matching drivetrain confirms its factory authenticity.
Condition:
Mechanical: Excellent. Starts right up, shifts smoothly, and drives straight. The Minor Quirk: The car runs and drives great, but if it sits parked in the driveway for an extended period, it will leave a small oil drip. It’s a very slow, minor leak typical for a vehicle of this age/mileage.
Exterior: Vehicle was repainted the factory blue at some point before my ownership. Paint is a 9 out of 10. Wheels are original, some having damage from rubbing against a curb (I purchased in this condition).
Interior: Carpet and seats have been updated prior to my purchase and are 8 out of 10 in condition.
Repairs since owning:
Steering & Handling: Brand new power steering pump and power steering line installed (smooth, effortless steering with zero leaks).
Braking System: New brake line installed for peace of mind and solid stopping power.
Drivetrain: New rear wheel bearing replaced, ensuring a quiet, smooth highway ride.
Transmission: Fresh transmission pan gasket replaced to ensure everything stays sealed and shifts smoothly. Slow transmission fluid drip if the vehicle sits parked for an extended period. It doesn't affect how the vehicle shifts or drives at all.
Comfort: A/C system has been fully updated and serviced—blows cold and ready for the summer heat.
