Folks,
I have increased the maximum file size allowed to be uploaded to 10MB.  The previous setting was 1MB.  This was a problem for many people because most digital cameras nowadays take photos well over 1MB.  So people were forced to try to resize them BEFORE uploading them to the site.

With the new 10MB size, this should not really be an issue for most people anymore.

When you upload your files to anywhere EXCEPT your Personal File Folder, they will automatically be resized to no more than 700pixels wide.  So even though you might be uploading a 9MB file, it will not stay that way.  It will be reduced quite drastically so that people (especially with slow internet connections) will not have to wait a long time for your pictures to download to their computer, and also it will save space on the site server.

I have also posted new instructions on where and how to upload pictures. You can find the instructions in the Support forum.  Here is a direct link to the post:

I hope you enjoy this new "freedom."  Please let me know if you have any problems or questions with it.

Folks, PLEASE do not use this feature as an excuse/opportunity to upload numerous(ie: A LOT) of large images into a post. The more larger images there are in a single post, the longer it takes the page to load. I know I am NOT the only one here that is stuck with dial-up, and multiple large images means the dial-up members usually cannot load the thread pages. Chances are, the dial-ups will skip over the thread completely.
I know..."get high speed service"...Dead
That's not the most viable solution to the problem. The best solution is for folks to remember the image upload limits. Don't mean to be a party pooper...just trying to make it so everyone can enjoy the threads/info available here.
Thanks!!!Big smile
