Tracing the supplying dealer

Thank you for the welcome.
I am looking at a 2007 convertible here in New Jersey - is it possible to trace the original dealer from the VIN #?

Yes , you can trace the supplying dealer.

I had my local gm dealer parts dept do it for me.
He did a vehicle inquiry summary, it will show the in service date and the delivering dealer, as well as warentee info.
