I recently joined the Nashville Corvette Club. The club advertised a "Cruise-In" they were going to in Murfreesboro Tn. So I thought this would be fun. It was a huge Showcase of vehicles, probably a couple hundred cars of every type and style. There was about 30 or 35 Vettes there, but there were only 2 C-4's. All the rest were C-5's and C-6's. I actually felt a bit out of place among all of these new, shiney, expensive Vettes. I followed suit with the rest and opened my hood and put up the rear window. I had my top off and stored in the back. I drug out the McGuires spray and shine and wiped her down real quick trying to look my best among all these High Dollar beauties.
As I was socializing with the other owners, who were all quite nice and welcomed me and my C-4, I began to notice that my little 1990 Green C-4 was drawing a crowd of on lookers. It was like there was a people magnet on it. It drew the largest crowd of any of the vettes there. I heard one little boy (About 10 years old) Telling his Daddy that this was "The coolest Corvette of them all" people kept asking me questions about it, What year is it? How many miles? How fast? .... I was busy all evening talking about the car (favorite subject to talk about anyway)
Moral of the story: Never underestimate the C-4, it's an awesome vehicle and a definate crowd favorite.

it's like that all over. people really enjoy the older vettes more. when i go to cruise shows everyone oohs and aahs the new ones but spend more time talking and looking at the older ones. i have had people hanging out the windows complimenting both my 75 & 90.

It's funny to see so many people online trash the C4, then go out in the real world. We went to a hot rod show Saturday, there were 2 C6s, 1 C5, 1 or 2 C2s and 2 C3s. And about a half dozen C4s, getting lots of attention, photos, the works. The C4 just has that look that oozes sex appeal.

IMHO; The best looking front quarter view af a Corvette is a '56 of '57. The best looking rear quarter is tie between any C3 chromie and a '63 split window. The best straight side view is any C4. My car is admiral blue and I get many compliments on the color.
There is no substitute for low end torque!

Vette(s): 87 Red Coupe, not as pretty, had 213G miles, great running engine; got 20-21 around town, 27-28 on hwy; I got to drive a Vette, every day for 6 yrs. It was my first; so now I know what the fuss is all about. (Sold it 2015 for $3000, still ran great.)
You are like most of us C4 owners, appreciative of our Corvette, but still admiring of the newer ones, which are pretty cool, too. A lot of people like our series, even though they aren't the fast and high HP supercars that older and newer ones get attention for. The C4 has a nice look, however, and it's the common-man's Corvette at this time in history. At least we get to drive ours and enjoy the ride, no matter how shinier or collectible are the others. We can love looking at the others, but we can still feel lucky to have the ones that brought us to the dance!
