If it does not have A/C, it isn't that big a job. I have done it through firewall from under the hood, so you don't have to take the heater box completely out.

When I see you in Holland let me know all about it. Every year I have to add freon because it all leakes out. Corvette guy thinks it may be leaking at the heater core but has not tested there yet. No detectabole leaks in the engine compartment. Anybody got an idea???

Well I got her back together today. Not that bad of a job but I could tell someone had been in there before. The new core was not exactly the same as the one that came out but it fit well enough for me to finish the job. I will post pics later this week when I get the chance. The one I took out looks like it was about to leak, lots of green around the one pipe. I am not sure if it was the original core that may have been repaired in the past but it looks like someone used putty to seal the small pipe. In fact the pipe broke loose when I was taking it out.

Good job B. I knew ya could do it. The tricky part I had was discovering there was a nut on the stud behind the evap case.
That was surely a discard.
Dan. The heater core and the A/C system are not connected. If your leaking refrigerant it could be coming from a number of places, but you won't see anything in the egn. compartment as it leaks out as a gas.

I know that Terry. My Corvette guy uses a disclosure type fluid that showes if it is leaking. Cannot see leak in engine area. I will have had the syster refurbished by the time I see you in Holland.
