I am trying to find a 1972 Corvette that I bought new in 1972. Vin is 1Z37K2S521040. Car was sunburst yellow when I owned it. Records show the car was last titled in Idaho in Feb of 2013.

Over the years lots of folks have searched for their "lost" ride. The enactment of privacy laws across the country have limited the ability for individuals to chase down the history of vehicle ownership. My suggestion, if you haven't done so already, is to contact the Idaho DMV (or whatever they call it) and ask for information from them. imho vehicle registrations are public records and should be able to be shared, but that's not a view held by many. Good luck with your search. Let us know how it goes, what "roadblocks" you encounter along the way and if you're successful.

Vette(s): C-3 1972 purchased new in 1973 sold in 1976
C-4 1994 purchased in 1997 sold in 2004
I found my lost car using Idaho DMV as you suggested. Turns out that the guy who had owned it for the past nearly 40 years died about 10 years ago and his grandson inherited the car. It had been setting outside for many years and is in pretty rough shape. The good news is that the grandson is in the process of restoring the car. The bad news is that he does not want to sell it. I am happy to learn that the car still exists and is apparently still loved!

WHOOHO...!!! THAT'S GREAT...!!! CONGRATS - glad you were able to find it. That doesn't happen very often. Stay in touch with the grandson and you never know - he may decide to sell it some day.
