Having never had a vette before, how do you remove the T-tops on a 1980

Vette(s): 1981 Blue Ice Met. w/pearl ghost flames TKO500 5speed. LS1 Swap 3.45 Dana 44.
Flip the locking latch downward. 

Grasp the outer edge of top with both hands lift a few inches. 

Then slide the top towards you a couple inches to clear the 2 alignment tabs that engage the top to the t bar. 

Place 1 hand under the top and one one the outer edge then lift it off carefully clearing the car. 

Secure top in a t top bag and store in the back cargo area. There should be some thin straps in the cargo area to keep them locked down. 

If your tops are glass they are heavy. Be careful. 
Fiberglass tops are fairly light.
